
Donald T. Bonomo is a seasoned attorney with more than two decades of experience representing clients in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Washington D.C. Court of Appeals. Since being admitted to the bar in 2002, Mr. Bonomo has developed a well-respected practice in civil litigation, real estate law, and bankruptcy law, serving individuals, businesses, and community organizations with integrity and dedication.
Mr. Bonomo is a founding partner of the Law Offices of Perez and Bonomo, LLC, where he concentrates on civil litigation, chancery practice, bankruptcy matters under Chapters 7, 11, and 13, and real estate transactions. His bankruptcy work has included plenary hearings, creditor objections, and motion practice. In addition to litigation, Mr. Bonomo provides comprehensive counsel on real estate matters including contract negotiation, title review, mortgage qualification, and closings.
From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Bonomo was a partner at the Law Offices of Caamano and Bonomo in Newark, where he focused on bankruptcy law, real estate practice, and landlord–tenant litigation. He also gained experience in municipal variance hearings and Tax Court appeals while overseeing the daily operations of the firm.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Bonomo served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Joseph Yannotti in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County. In this role, he was responsible for extensive legal research and drafting opinions, several of which were published.
In addition to private practice, Mr. Bonomo currently serves as Public Defender for the City of South Hackensack (2023). He has also held leadership and community service positions, including:
